Mr. Kirkwood is EMEA Head of Sales & Marketing for Jefferies Asset Management. He is responsible for overseeing UK and EMEA capital raising, with a particular focus on the Middle East.
Mr. Kirkwood joined Jefferies (Leucadia Asset Management) in 2019. Previously, he was CEO of Carrhae Capital, a London-based emerging markets equities boutique he co-founded in 2011. From 2009-2011 he was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse Asset Management, with a focus on alternative investment funds. Prior to Credit Suisse, he spent eight years at BlackRock as a Managing Director in the Alternative Advisors unit, heading EMEA, which he joined when BlackRock acquired Quellos Capital Management, where he had been a partner, and had established and built the European office from inception in 2002. He began his career at UBS, in sales trading of FX derivatives as well as equity structured products.
Mr. Kirkwood holds a BA Hons (First Class) and M.Phil in Economics from Cambridge University.
