About Josh
Mr. Cherney is COO & Chief Strategy Officer of Business Development & Marketing for Jefferies Asset Management and is responsible for overseeing business development strategy and investor relations.
Prior to joining Jefferies (Leucadia Asset Management) in 2020, Mr. Cherney was Head of Business Development & Investor Relations for Scopia Capital, an institutional alternative asset management firm employing a fundamentals-based, value-driven investment approach. Previously, he was a Vice President at BlackRock, where he was responsible for the sourcing, performance of due diligence on and monitoring of hedge fund managers. Prior to that, he was an Investment Analyst at Amherst College, where he was a member of the team managing the Amherst endowment.
Mr. Cherney earned a BA in History, Phi Beta Kappa, from Amherst College and an MBA degree from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. He is a CFA charterholder.
